Legend has it that bats were the original farmers of El Diamante. Over 100 years ago, they would eat coffee cherries from neighbouring farms and “deposit” seeds when they flew over this plot. Avelino, Paty’s grandfather, eventually found the coffee trees amidst the maize crops and gradually converted the farm to coffee. Paty values buyers who care for the people and community that produced the coffee as much as the quality of the coffee itself.
