Recent changes to Ethiopian export laws allow for Hassan to export his coffee without first passing through the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange, a system that, until recently, obscured any information about exported coffees apart from their origin country. Kayon Mountain has its own washing station and dry mill, allowing for traceability through the entirety of the growing, harvesting, and exporting process.
